We are in preparations for Thanksgiving currently as well. We are all making one or two dishes for the big day and we are combining with another group of fun people (Erin’s friend Dianna, her boyfriend and another friend). We will be having it over at their house because they have a bigger table and more chairs. I am making green bean casserole (my absolute favorite) and garlic mashed potatoes. It’s been a struggle trying to find French friend onions like we have at home and after a long and more or less unsuccessful search, I finally decided to just make some. I looked up a recipe and tried it out and they look (and taste) delicious and almost exactly like the store-bought brand. Crisis averted.
Anyway, we’ll be back with pics and stories and updates and everything (I’ll try to force Taylor and Erin to write a little Thanksgiving Day writeup at least) after Turkey Day, but right now I have to go back to work. I’m at the in between time of two shifts today. Also I have to work tomorrow morning (on thanksgiving day… BUMMER!) because I have to help do the kegs and they forgot to order them on time so they’re coming a day late. Normally I’d help them on Wednesday morning, but this week it is Thursday. Ugh. I work from 6am – 9am so I’ll be back for all the festivities.
Anyway, I gotta go run and catch a ferry so enjoy the pictures below of my little jaunts down by the Opera House… beautiful, isn’t it?

JB, The pict's are beautiful. Is that on your camera. Came out good. Your getting to be quite the cook. Chip off the bald old block. Had a good week this week traveling to Baltimore, Philadelphia twice and Brooklyn and the weeks not over. Do another Phila run on Friday. Also I need 2 Benz's. One for Peter's friend in Slovakia and the other for Michael,s friend in Wilks Barre. Plus one for Doug Hodges whenever he is ready. His pace is slightly slower than a slug. So they are out there, just have to dig a little. No bits on the Trailblazer yet. I am driving it. Nik and Erin are using my Ram to go to Phila to leave it there when they go on the cruise.
ReplyDeleteCooking the turkey today. Mommom and Poppy, Nik and Erin to be here for Thanksgiving, but no Jesse. Bummer.
Thanks for the quickie blog. Waiting for more news from the blogmeister soon. D.D.
Hey Jesse,
ReplyDeleteReally glad to hear from you, been awhile.
I'm getting ready for turkey day too, have to bake two pies today & I'll make the stuffing. Tomorrow Woody & I will stuff the bird & cook it for five hours. There is going to be so much food, but you know left overs are the best. There will be six people here at my house.
You & your friends sure do eat good whether its out somewhere or you prepare it at your flat. Green bean casserole is on my menu too.
I always had to work on holidays too, didn't care for it, & it always amazed me how many people went out for dinner. The tips were always good though.
The weather has changed here in Dewey, colder & rain is predicted for today & tomorrow. Flagstaff will probably get some snow. Bet all of the skiiers are very anxious for the white stuff. I'd like to see some here too. I have various types of shovels & have never used them here.
Thanks for the blog & sending pictures. Have a great Thanksgiving with your friends.
Love you, Aunt Sandy
