It is RAAAAAAINing outside right now… insanity rain. Big, thick, heavy, aggressive and wet drops of rain. I feel bad for Taylor. I got home an hour before the rain started, Taylor will probably get off work in the next 2 minutes and have to fjord the river home. Maybe try and float the wagon across.
Anyway, this is the Jess-ster. Living it up. Like I said I just got back from work a little while ago. Work was good tonight, I waited tables on the bar floor today (Lina took the back section, I took the front). Once again I learned a lot and had a pretty good time. It’s fun to stay busy and there’s almost always something to do. The tips weren’t as good at the bar level, but that’s mostly because people normally just get a couple of beers and pay for them right away. There isn’t as much service involved. Also there weren’t near as many people on a Wednesday night as on a Friday night – so I’m looking forward to hopefully working downstairs in the restaurant on the busier nights so I can bring home the cheddar.
Since I blogged last – hold that thought… There was just a monster lightning/thunder combo. It had to have been the tree out front or something because the thunder came instantly after the lightning, the house shook. Awesome – ok continuing… Since last time, we had a nice little day on Tuesday. I went for a run and made some delicious dinner. I bought a couple different kinds of kangaroo meat at the store the other day and we tried them out Tuesday night for the first time. Kangaroo sausages, which have a tasty little zip of some sort to them, and Kangaroo mince were the two types I bought. Sausage sandwiches are easy enough, but I really enjoyed grilling the mince up with some spices and mixing that into a little pasta sauce and veggies to make a tasty meaty pasta sauce. Throw that over some pasta and there ya go! I’m not positive on the health benefits of kangaroo meat, but I do know it is better for Australia and for me than eating cows. You see, kangaroos rarely, if ever, fart. Cows, on the other hand, are almost constantly farting. They create something like 15-20% of Australia’s methane. It sounds like I’d have to make that up, but I’m not. Kangaroo meat is fairly lean and has tons of Iron, so I’m sticking with it for the time being.
Tuesday night we went Salsa dancing and brought along eMay’s friend, Dianna. She was nice, a little quiet and hesitant to dance at first, but that’s understandable when somebody like me is out there tearing it up. We had fun and after a couple hours Lindy got off work and joined the crew (Taylor had to work late again). Dianna has an Australian boyfriend and a buncha US friends who we’re going to hang out with this weekend. Fun stuff.
Today we saw 007, Quantam of Solace. If you haven’t seen it yet, James Bond dies! No, come on now, be reasonable. He doesn’t die… well maybe he does. Just go see it. It is so exciting and intense, and there are about a hundred more chases in this one than the last one (car chases, boat chases, plane, foot, etc). It was quite a spectacle. The end left me wanting a little more, but that’s good because I’ll definitely go see the next one.
Word to your father.
Shout out to Daddy Dick tonight… Dad, your comments always make me laugh, I love reading the US/Aus lingo and is there a manheim auto auction in Sydney? Because maybe you could come out here and buy a car for us… we could really use one at times. Good luck selling the Trailblazer, I’m sure it’ll go quick if you’ve got anything to do with it.
That’s it for now.

Hey Jesse,
ReplyDeleteI was able to find you, imagine that, little old me. I still don't know what the problem is. I searched google for therescuersdownunder & this came up. I like the old way better. But if this is what we have to do I'll do it & I will tell your dad what I did. Me of all people!
Kangaroo meat, wow! Sounded pretty good & Jess I didn't know you were such an authority on FARTS. Pretty interesting stuff there.
Sounds like your work is going very well.Keep it up!
I will get back to you later, if I can find you again, to tell you about what we did today, my birthday. I only know we're going to the "Olive Garden" tonight. So hopefully I'll talk to you later.
xxx Love ya, Aunt Sandy
Jesse I wasn't able to read "Adventures Abound," but your blog came up again. Don't know what the problem is!

JB, Thanks for the shout out matey. Will do my best to blogger a comment to the groupie down under. Unfortunately there is no Manheim Auction in Sydney that I know of. Maybe you should check it out. That would be a good excuse to come down. Buy a car, what the heck? Roo meat huh. Better be careful, you have enough stringy sinew. Also your jump is 36" so if you get any more, it will hurt too much to come back down. What does Roo meat taste like? So you had Roo hamberger (mince) and sausage. Is there a Roo roast or a Roo steak. Where do you come up with the information that Roo's don't fart? Of course they fart. They are plant eating Macropadidae and all plant eating Macropadidae fart. So at least try to keep your facts straight. Don't believe me, look it up. Country boy that you are, actually horses are worse than cows. And mules, wow. Lancaster County has its good source of Methane too. Sydney's methane comes from good looking, well meaning, young, entergetic, americans who try to tell others on "The Blog" fantastic stories about kangaroo's dumping habits.
ReplyDeleteOO7 will be happening soon, on your say so. I had a late call for a Philadelphia run today, so I took the new car to give it a try. Runs good but the Lexus is better. Have a sunday 6:30 to Philadelphis too. Going to take a fellow there to pick up his clothes at his apartment near the University of Pennsylvania. Then I bring him back and he leaves for Atlanta for the winter and he wants me to look after is $700,000 home for 3/4 months. Cool enough mate. Big parties a brewing. Have a 08 E350 Benz to find. Friend of Michael Carsia's. Remember him, the white haired so and so from GDCC? My x-boss.
Off and on all day today was snow. Nothing to add up, just the very wet road gravy type especially on the turnpike. Tomorrow is maybe a antique auction day. Or maybe even a start to the amish clothes line. So there you are Vern, end of shout out. Thanks again, and LATER, D.D.
Hey Jess, I tried to comment on your last one and it wouldn't go so I will try again this time. I had a rough day- a kid flipped out this afternoon and then I had a ton of paperwork to do. I am home now though and getting ready to go out to dinner with Dana and Ron. I am glad the weekend is here. Roo meat huh? What will they think of next? Love you and miss you,Pie
